Description

A delicious meatloaf roll glazed with barbecue sauce for a flavorful twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare Meat Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until fully combined.
  3. Shape the Meat Roll: On a piece of parchment paper, flatten the meat mixture into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Roll the meat tightly into a log using the parchment paper to help, sealing the ends and edges.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
  5. Glaze and Bake: Place the meatloaf roll on a baking sheet. Brush the glaze over the meatloaf roll, coating it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf roll rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining glaze drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding bacon strips on top of the meatloaf before applying the glaze.
  • Ensure the meatloaf roll is tightly packed to maintain its shape during baking.
  • Optional: Add a layer of cheese inside the meat roll for a cheesy surprise when sliced.
  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking to ensure it is cooked through without drying out.
