Description

Enjoy your delightful, colorful treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups desiccated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons strawberry flavor gelatin or essence
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • a few drops pink food coloring
  • a few drops yellow food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base Mixture:
    – In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, desiccated coconut, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and the texture is dough-like.
  2. Divide the Mixture:
    – Divide the mixture into three equal parts in separate bowls.
  3. Flavor and Color:
Chocolate: In the first bowl, add cocoa powder and mix well until fully combined.
Strawberry: In the second bowl, add the strawberry flavor and a few drops of pink food coloring. Mix well.
Vanilla: Leave the third bowl as it is or add a few drops of yellow food coloring for a bright hue.
  4. Form the Balls:
    – From each flavored mixture, scoop a small portion and roll it into a ball.
    – Take a small portion from each flavor and gently press them together to form a larger tricolor ball.
  5. Coating:
    – Roll the tricolor balls in granulated sugar until fully coated.
  6. Chill:
    – Place the sweet balls on a tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Notes

  • Ensure each flavor mixture is well-incorporated before forming the balls to maintain color distribution.
  • Adjust food coloring based on preference for a brighter or pastel look.
  • These sweet balls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Experiment with other flavors and colors for further customization.
