Description
A delicious banana bread with a cream cheese filling that’s perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- 1/2 cup melted butter (plus more butter for pan)
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 9″-x-5″ loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, butter, sour cream, vanilla, 2 eggs and mix until smooth. Pour wet ingredients over dry and stir until combined, then fold in mashed bananas.
- In a small bowl, stir together egg, cream cheese, flour and sugar.
- Transfer half the batter to prepared pan. Dollop cream cheese filling on top and smooth in an even layer with a spatula. Top with remaining batter and bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour.
- Let cool 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor.
- Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture.
