Description

A delicious twist on classic mac and cheese, served on a pizza crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pizza crust
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Cook the Macaroni: Boil the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux, cooking for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until smooth and thickened. Stir in cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Prepare Toppings: Cook bacon until crispy and crumble it. Cook sausage and crumble it. Set both aside.
  4. Assemble the Pizza: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the pizza crust on a baking sheet. Lightly brush the crust with olive oil. Spread a layer of the cheese sauce evenly over the crust, leaving some space at the edges. Evenly distribute the cooked macaroni on top of the sauce. Sprinkle with cooked bacon and sausage crumbles. Optional: Sprinkle more cheddar or mozzarella on top for extra cheesiness.
  5. Bake: Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
  6. Serve: Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Experiment with other cheeses like pepper jack for extra spice.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or onions for more flavor.
  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake it for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Substitute with gluten-free pasta or crust if preferred.
