- 8 hot dogs
- 2 cups chili (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup diced onions (green onions or scallions for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Roll out the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. Separate the dough into triangles as per the package instructions.
- Assemble Hot Dogs: Wrap each hot dog with a triangle of dough. Place them side by side in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Prepare Chili: Heat the chili in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
- Layer Ingredients: Pour the heated chili evenly over the hot dogs wrapped in dough. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chili layer.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crescent rolls are golden brown.
- Garnish: Once baked, remove from the oven and brush the melted butter over the crust. Sprinkle the diced onions or scallions on top for garnish.
- Serve: Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
