Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ cup holiday sprinkles (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; then stir in holiday sprinkles.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Optionally, press extra sprinkles onto each cookie before baking.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown; centers should appear slightly underbaked.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
