Description
A delicious sesame chicken dish served over fluffy jasmine rice with crisp green beans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by dicing the chicken into bite-sized pieces and trimming the green beans.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic until well combined.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and sauté until golden brown on all sides (about 6-8 minutes).
- Toss in green beans during the last 3 minutes of cooking; stir frequently until they are bright green yet crisp.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and beans; lower heat slightly and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
- While the chicken simmers, cook jasmine rice according to package directions.
- Serve sesame chicken over rice and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the chicken in the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Use a non-stick pan to prevent the chicken from sticking while sautéing.
