Description

A delicious sesame chicken dish served over fluffy jasmine rice with crisp green beans.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by dicing the chicken into bite-sized pieces and trimming the green beans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic until well combined.
  3. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and sauté until golden brown on all sides (about 6-8 minutes).
  4. Toss in green beans during the last 3 minutes of cooking; stir frequently until they are bright green yet crisp.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and beans; lower heat slightly and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. While the chicken simmers, cook jasmine rice according to package directions.
  7. Serve sesame chicken over rice and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken in the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
